News: Setup/Teardown Volunteers Needed--Meeting on April 10th

4/7/2005

Because we are a "mobile" church, our large Sunday Gatherings require a good amount of setting up and tearing down sound equipment, chairs, tables, etc. Up 'til now, this weekly task has been performed mostly by the Leadership and Support Teams (with other helpful volunteers mixed in). In order to free these teams up, and give the body at Edge a chance to minister tangibly to the rest of the community, we're looking for volunteers to help in the Setup and Teardown of our Sunday Gatherings.

Sunday, April 10th, we're going to have a lunch meeting at Mike and Laurie Leon's home at 1PM. Lunch will be provided. At this meeting you'll learn what the setup and teardown crews do, and get the opportunity to sign up for a 6-month commitment to helping with the setup and/or teardown of the Sunday Gatherings. Our goal is to get enough volunteers that each volunteer would only need to help out once per month during their 6-month commitment.

Helping with the Setup and Teardown of the Gatherings involves many different tasks--some simple, some complex--a few requiring brute strength, but most requiring nothing more than an able body. If you can walk around and use your hands, you can help!

More information is on the event calendar here. Hope to see you there! (If you'd like to help but can't make the meeting, feel free to talk to any member of the Leadership Team about helping out.) You can even just email me: eschlange@edgecommunity.com
