Screen Wallpaper Backgrounds Help
So you want to use our cool wallpaper backgrounds but can't figure out how to set them on your computer? We're here to help. Note: these instructions are for people running Microsoft Windows.
Which file should I download?
The files are for different screen sizes. Most people are running at 600x800 resolution. If you have a 17" or bigger monitor, you probably want the bigger (1024x768) file. To find out what resolution you are currently running at, right click on your desktop and go to "Properties." Under the "Settings" you can see your current resolution (sometimes called "Screen Area").
There are 2 different file formats available for each screen size. One is a jpeg format, and the other is bitmap. Not all computers can use jpegs as a background file--but if you can, that's the easiest way to go. If that doesn't work, you'll need to download the compressed bitmap file and unzip it using a free program like Winzip.
How do I download the file I want?
To download a jpeg, right-click on the link and choose "Save Target As." To download a zip file, just click on it.
How do I set the image I downloaded to be my desktop background?
Right-click on your desktop and choose "Properties" (or go to your control panel and choose "Display"). Under the "Background" tab you have a list of available background files--click the "Browse" button to find the file your downloaded, select it, then click "Apply." There you have it!
